A Naughty but Incredible Sign

Hairy Balls Sign:  19 September 2026

We had a very funny sign from Tomson just before we went on holiday to Turkey. His sense of humour seems to be working perfectly well across the veil.

(I almost hesitated to write this sign because I thought someone might get offended, but ultimately decided it was too good not to document).

The four of us: me, Andy, Sam and his girlfriend Jess were heading off on holiday in Turkey. Before we set off, Sam and Jess came over to our house so we could all fly from Teesside Airport together.

I have an old fat freezing machine in the hall. Its screen was a bit dusty, and Andy had written “clean me” on it. Sam decided to draw a willy and balls next to the "clean me". That’s the sort of thing we do in our family. 😂

I went over to add some hairs to the balls, but they were already there.

Me: “I was going to add hairs, but you’ve already put them on.”
Sam: “No, I didn’t!”
Me: “But there are hairs there!”

Sam came over to look. “Well, I didn’t put them on!”
We turned to Jess. “Did you add hairs to the balls?”
She looked surprised (and probably thought what kind of weird family have I involved myself with) and said no. So we asked Andy.
“Did you put hairs on the balls?”
“No! I didn’t even know they were there!”

After interrogating the whole family, we realised that none of us had added them.

Tomson always did have the best sense of humour. He also has a way of giving us signs when we’re all together, so we all get to see them at once. Bless him. ❤️

I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, and this felt like an especially lovely way for him to make us all laugh together.
